Vintage Posters
The Circus and Magic Collection
This collection of backgrounds and borders has been created from Posters which were familar to everyone around the turn of the century. Printed in their thousands these posters would be attached to every blank surface that could be found to announce the arrival of the Circus. Back then the arrival of the fair included a big parade with all the animals and performers decked out in their colourful ring wear, parading along the main street of the Town. Sometimes there would be a parade from the Station to the town on the actual day the train arrived with the circus.
The posters in this collection are from the 1890's to 1930 and include such great names as Barnum & Bailey, Buffalo Bill and other famous circus personalities of that era.
All the available downloads are free for personal use on web pages etc. Should you use one of these backgrounds it would be nice if you could give me a linked credit on your page. If you would like to let me have details of your site I will place a link on my links page to your site.
